Controller

Kallikles Verlag GmbH, represented by its Managing Director Dr. Karl-Friedrich Weiland,
Sudauer Straße 38, 13125 Berlin, Germany, email: info@kallikles.de.

Principles

startupjobs.de works without user accounts, without advertising cookies and without tracking of individuals. We process as little data as possible: no applicant data, no profiles, no disclosure to third parties for advertising purposes. Our audience measurement (see below) is anonymous and cookie-free.

Server logs

When you access the website or the MCP endpoint, the server processes technically necessary access data (IP address, date and time, URL requested, volume of data transferred, user agent) in server logs. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). These logs are deleted after 14 days at the latest.

Language cookie

If you use the language switch (German/English), your browser stores a functional cookie (lang, lifetime twelve months) so that your choice is remembered. It contains nothing but the language code, no identifying data, and is required for the service you requested (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, the German implementation of the ePrivacy rules); no consent is needed for it. We set no other cookies.

Anonymised query logging

To improve the service and to compile market analyses, we log search requests made to the job search and to the MCP server (the tool name and search parameters such as vertical, location, salary range or search term) – without IP address and without any other attribute that would allow the request to be linked to a person. For candidate matching, not even the list of requested skills is stored, only how many there were. These logs are therefore anonymous; we neither intend nor are able to establish a link to an identifiable person.

MCP endpoint for AI agents

The public MCP endpoint (mcp.startupjobs.de) answers requests from AI agents out of the same data as the website. The same rules apply: server logs as described above, anonymised query logging, no accounts, and no storage of candidate profiles submitted to it.

Applications and external links

Applications are made exclusively and directly with the respective startup: the application link leads to that company’s career page or applicant tracking system. We neither receive nor process application documents. The respective company is the controller for the processing that takes place there, and its privacy policy applies.

Contact by email

If you contact us by email (for instance as a startup applying to join the whitelist), we process the information you send in order to handle your enquiry (Art. 6 (1)(b) or (1)(f) GDPR). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for that purpose and no statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.

Hosting

The website runs on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany); the server location is Helsinki, Finland (EU). Hetzner processes the connection data named above on our behalf under a data processing agreement. We currently use no content delivery network and no other third-party services.

Audience measurement

To measure page views we use the self-hosted software Umami on a server of our own (stats.kallikles.de, likewise at Hetzner Online GmbH). Umami uses no cookies and builds no cross-visitor profiles; the IP address is not stored but only processed transiently into a daily rotating value that cannot be reversed. What is recorded is the page visited, the referrer, browser type, device category and approximate country of origin. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in statistical analysis of how the site is used (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR); the data never leaves our server.

Newsletter

There is currently no newsletter. Should we introduce one, this policy will be extended accordingly beforehand.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, as well as the right to object to processing based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. The competent supervisory authority is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.
